KEY POINTS
Noted leaker @Ice_Universe recently leaked a few interesting details regarding Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Note 20. The tipster posted several tweets about the new device, indicating that it will feature a still-unannounced processor, and have a better S Pen as compared to the Galaxy Note 10.
A better processor
First, the tipster, who has a cat's photo as a profile image, said the device called the “Galaxy Note 20 Ultra” will be an “evolution version” of the Note 10+, running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+. This is where it gets interesting.
Qualcomm is yet to announce an enhanced version of the Snapdragon 865, which is used by many top-of-the-line flagship handsets in the market today, Phone Arena noted. While it's entirely possible that Qualcomm could announce the new chipset before Samsung unveils the Galaxy Note 20, it's worth noting that the chipmaker hasn't announced it yet at the moment.
@Ice_Universe's leak is also interesting due to the fact that the Galaxy Note 10 was powered by an Exynos 9825 chipset. While this SoC outperforms the Snapdragon 855 in single-core tasks, it's worth noting that the Snapdragon 855+, which powered some flagships last year, offered 15% faster graphics compared to those running on the 855.
Using a Snapdragon 865+ on the Galaxy Note 20 will mean that it will be more powerful than any non-iPhone handset in the market, including Samsung's own Galaxy S20 lineup.
A better S Pen
In another tweet, @Ice_Universe simply mentioned “9ms,” without saying anything else about it. This tweet caused many netizens to speculate about what it could refer to, but based on what the tipster has been tweeting about, it's easy to understand that it's about the Galaxy Note 20 – and the S Pen that comes with it.
Tom's Guide noted that the 2020 iPad Pro's Apple Pencil has a 9ms response time, which makes it very responsive to a user's inputs. @Ice_Universe's tweet indicates that Samsung has enhanced the S Pen so that it would be very responsive to user inputs as well. This stylus will work with a QHD+ display that has a 120Hz refresh rate.
LAUNCH DATE AND PRICE
