Indian Railways set a record |
In fact, South East Central Railway has created this new record by adding two freight trains and running two kilometers long goods train on the tracks for the first time in the country. The train ran between Lajkura and Rourkela in Odisha in 'Anaconda Formation'.
This train had a total load of 15 thousand tons. This unique experiment was done to save time in freight. Running of this train for the railway is also a big reason that it was run on the busiest route of freight trains.
In this train, three goods trains were put together, in which goods worth more than Rs 1 crore were transported through Bilaspur and Chakradharpur divisions. The maximum speed of this freight train was 60 km per hour.
Starting from Lajkura near Brajrajnagar, this 'Super Anaconda' reached Rourkela station in a record time of 2 hours and 15 minutes. A senior railway official involved in this operation said that it was a thrilling experience to drive three freight trains at once.
For this, 3 electric engines with a capacity of 6000 horsepower were installed. Also, just before the departure of the loaded wagons, the railway had seen three empty rakes running simultaneously. Till now only two goods trains were run in one, but this is the first time that three goods trains were added together.
It was run by Chief Loco Pilot Randhir Kumar and Guard S Mallik from Raigad. The crew team consisted of a total of 6 locos and assistant loco pilots.
