The World Health Organization (WHO) on Friday issued new guidelines regarding facemask amid growing cases of corona worldwide. The WHO stated that it had made some changes to its old guidelines based on circumstances and some research. It mandates wearing face masks in public places to prevent corona infection.
WHO Director General Tedros Adnom Gabresius said that we have prepared the new guidelines on the basis of reviewing the available evidence and the suggestions of international experts, civil society groups.
WHO'S NEW GUIDELINES
Governments of all countries encourage the general public to wear masks. Where there is more infection, people should wear masks at all times. Also, wearing masks in crowded places such as railway stations, bus stands, hospitals and shops is very important.
It is mandatory for all healthy people to wear a three-layer fabric mask. It has a cotton lining, outer layer of polyester and a filter made of polypropylene in the middle. Only those who are ill should wear medical grade masks.
In places where the level of infection is very high, all people should use medical-grade masks. Health workers as well as patients and all those present there must wear a medical-grade mask in hospitals.
The mask also has some disadvantages. The risk of becoming infected increases if the cloth mask is not replaced when it is wet. Along with this, people wearing masks fall prey to happiness and do not pay attention to social distance.
