Now Modi government will keep Chinese companies away from highway project and MSME sector

In the midst of tension on the border, the Indian government had recently banned 59 apps from China in the country. Now the Modi government wants to keep Chinese companies away from the highway project.

New Delhi: Shocking China amid the tension between India and China on the Ladakh border, another ministry of the central government has banned Chinese companies. Union Minister for Roads and Highways Nitin Gadkari has clearly said that Chinese companies will not be allowed to participate in any contracts for highway construction.

Not only this, but those companies will also be kept away, in which a Chinese company will have a stake or joint venture. If sources are to be believed, the ministry was very cautious about China. This is the reason that in the last few years, no Chinese company has been directly given a contract to build roads in India. According to Gadkari, Chinese investors will not be allowed even in the MSME sector.

It is worth noting that these days the soldiers of India and China in the Ladakhi Galwan Valley were killed in the recent confrontation between the brave soldiers of India, after which nothing is common between the two countries.

The government of India is aggressive about China. As a result, 59 Chinese digital apps were banned in India after MTNL BSNL. Now Union Road and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari have also decided to shock China.

Talking to a news agency, Nitin Gadkari said that the ministry has decided that no Chinese company will be awarded contracts for road construction or any matters related to it, no company will have consented even under the joint venture.

He has instructed the Ministry that at present, the process of tendering for a project in China is underway, to ensure that no such company is participating directly, which is directly related to a Chinese company.

He instructed to implement this rule in the MSME sector also. According to the information received from the sources of the Highways Ministry, since the formation of the NDA government, the ministry is taking precautions concerning Chinese companies.

In the last few years, no Chinese company has been directly contracted for road construction. But it has been fully implemented because of the prevailing circumstances.

After this order, the way has been cleared for Indian companies. By the way, the Ministry is also preparing to relax the norms to allow Indian companies. According to Nitin Gadkari, we have decided to relax the criteria for companies to ensure that they are eligible to bid for large projects.
Instructions have also been given to the Highways Secretary and the President of NHAI for this. He has also clarified that despite the decision to encourage foreign investment in the MSME sector, Chinese investors will not be allowed.
